Hola chic@s!
first of all, about our current situation: we both are working as a teacher now (well, as two teachers), which can be quite fun, but it isn't always. and to stock up the "australia-account" waitering also helps a lot!
so, if you wanna get an australian working holiday visa, go on this official link: http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-holiday/
go on: visa options to apply for the visa. its very easy. we got it in less than 24 hours after sending it.
We booked our fly at qantas.com in february. we booked just a one-way-ticket, bc we may fly back from bankok or singapor or somewhere else. it was 890€ (!) - its high season and just one way. but the company wasnt able to charge our credit card. sooo... in the meantime phillip (yes, it was him, seriously), found a flight for 710 euros. very good, we thought, qantas its not gonna charge anything for the flight, so lets go for this one, its almost 200 euros cheaper! and the storno-fee at qantas is 200 euros, so there isnt any really risk. but, literally the moment we wanted to book that flight it has risen to 810 euros. so... the risk was a bit too high for 80 euros. now we solved the problem with qantas and the flight is ours!!! 12th july 2011 at 18:50 we start our adventure from munich, via london, bankok (stopover), sydney to cairns!
anyways, what we wanted to tell you: if you are under 26 or a student and you wanna fly to australia, go to http://www.statravel.com/ and ask for a price there! its worth it!!!
otherwise http://www.opodo.com/ or http://www.swoodoo.com/ can help. a part from statravel, we found the cheapest flight at http://www.qantas.com.au/ .
What do we learn out of this?
1. the early bird catches the catches the worm: book the flight early!
2. statravel have nices prices for students or people under 21. qantas.com has nice offers too.
3. if you wanna travel, go and earn some money. teaching or waitering - doesnt really matter.
thx for reading!
